This 2001 white dial Rolex Explorer II is in very good condition. It is all original and genuine Rolex and features the newer Oyster bracelet with the mini double flip-lock clasp and solid end links (SEL). Under the dial is Rolex’s chronometer grade 31 jewel movement, the cal. 3185 with quickset date and automatic winding. This model features an independent 24-hour hand (red) for setting a second zone. The 40 mm stainless steel case has all the correct marking. Overall condition is very good with minimal signs of wear. The watch has just been correctly serviced and case and bracelet refinished to match their original appearance. All new gaskets were installed and the mainspring was replaced. It has passed a water resistant test, both a vacuum and pressure test and is ready to wear and enjoy (please see last picture)!
One last thing. When we purchased this watch we didn’t like the condition of the bezel so we replaced it with a brand new genuine Rolex bezel. Virtually every one of these you find the bezel shows wear and we hate that. Many others listed for sale have had their bezels refinished and once in hand, none of them look right. We tried the refinishing route ourselves, but again we didn’t like the results. Years ago we spoke to Rolex service on how they did the refinishing and even they didn’t like the results they were getting. So we decided when we get one in and don’t like the bezel, just replace it so now we always have one new one in stock for the occasion. If you are into the details, you will appreciate the difference, much like buying a properly serviced timepiece.
