Omega Seamaster Automatic C-1956 ref. #2846
Great looking “Wide Lug” Omega Seamaster in stainless steel case (34.25 X 41.50 mm) with a signed “Seamaster, Waterproof” caseback. These markings are normally polished off by now. That’s not the case with this watch. Even better the case has been left completely untouched. Never polished, and all surfaces are as they were when it first came from the factory. Certainly, the watch has been worn and it does show use, but when was the last time you had a 64 years old watch case with all of its original surfaces. We think it is a very special piece. The case reference number is 2846 – 2848 2SC. The movement is Omega’s own in-house cal. 501, 20 jewels with automatic winding. The original finish two-tone dial has tons of even patina. It also features applied dial markers and applied the Omega logo. If you like a vintage look, this one is simply outstanding. Another bit that sets this watch apart is both the dial and hands are original non-luminous. The hands are solid and the dial has no luminous at the markers. The signed Omega Seamaster crown is the correct style for this model and time period. This great collectible timepiece comes fully serviced and ready to wear. During service, we installed a new mainspring and a correct signed Omega (logo in the center) crystal. These watches were built to last and even today, they are still good timekeepers. Comes complete on a vintage-inspired new leather strap.
An outstanding example of a first-generation Seamaster that is completely original with its factory finish. Take a close look at this watch. The dial and all three hands are original. It has the correct period signed Omega crown and an originally signed Omega crystal. Plus it comes correctly serviced by us.
