Omega 14K Solid Gold Bumper Automatic
All original, very early Omega bumper winding automatic in solid 14K gold. It features a wonderful dial with its original finish. It shows a bit of aging, but still outstanding considering it is 70 years old. It has a nice vintage look about it as do the original hands.
The case is pretty neat. It is an early waterproof design with the caseback held in place with a stainless steel collar. The collar screws on to the main case frame holding the caseback in place. In the process of screwing down, it sandwiches a gasket between the caseback and main frame. We replaced that gasket during service, but please do not consider it waterproof. The case is fully signed and measures 33.5 mm at its smallest point without the signed Omega crown. Great looking “Drop down Lugs”.
The movement is Omega’s own caliber 342 with 17 jewels. The signed Omega crown is right for the time period and for this watch. The watch has been correctly serviced with a new mainspring and crystal installed. Lastly we added a new brown Lizard strap.
To give a better idea of size the last picture shows the watch on my wrist. I am 5’9” and about 160 lbs with 7” wrist.
