Universal Geneve Moonphase Triple Date 14K Gold
Outstanding, all original condition on this late 1940’s Universal Geneve Triple Date with Moonphase in 14K Solid Gold.
We just finished a complete service on this watch. Included with the service was a new mainspring and correct style crystal. Otherwise everything about this watch is as it came from the factory, when new back in the late 40’s. We paired with a new strap made of vintage leather and it complements the watch nicely.
The movement is the in-house Universal Geneve cal. #291 with 17 jewels and manual winding. Take a look at the photos. This movement, much like the rest of the watch is in outstanding condition.
The only signs that this timepiece is around 70 years old are a few age spots along the edge of the dial between 3 and 5 o’clock. Otherwise it is an outstanding example of the model.
The solid 14K Gold case measures 34.5 mm across w/o the crown and 43.76 mm lug to lug. It’s a nice size and looks great on my wrist as seen in the last picture. For comparison I’m 5’9″ and 160 lbs.
