Unusual and Stunning are the two that come to our minds when we take a look at this watch. A solid 18K Rose Gold case in a geometric style you don’t typically see from Universal Genève.
This 1950’s men’s Dioramic is housed in a solid 18K Rose Gold case that measures 26.3mm across at its narrowest point without the crown, and 36.3mm from lug tip to lug tip. Great angles and edges throughout! The lugs are high polished while the sides of the case and top of the case at 6 and 9 are straight grained for a very nice contrast.
The original finish, signed Universal Genève dial features an almost 3D look. The dial itself is faceted through the center. Accenting the dial are applied, faceted rose gold markers and matching faceted rose gold hands. Outstanding vintage condition overall, even more so when considering it is 60 years old.
Powering the watch is a signed Universal Genève Caliber 330 movement with 17 Jewels and manual winding. Running great and keeping excellent time.
The case was completely disassembled and ultrasonically cleaned, and we did a bit of refinishing. Mostly just to bring the factory style and finish. The watch is paired with a high grade 22mm German-made lizard strap with a matching 14K Rose Gold buckle.
