IWC Silver Pocketwatch C-1922 52mm

Item #13227

Collecting is about condition. This one is as good as anyone could imagine!

This seems to have been purchased and put away. If ever worn, it could not of been more then a few times. Take a look at the prefect aging of the silver case. Now that’s patina! And it’s prefect even. Looking inside to the dust cover and inner casebacks the finish is bright as if new. Even the movement shows as new. I can’t find any evidence of anyone servicing it and I know it hasn’t been touched in the 20 plus years I have owned it. It has just sat in my collection, waiting. . . . Now it’s time to someone new.

The case is stamped .900 Silver along with the IWC crest and all the necessary essay marks. It measures about 52mm or about a 16s American pocket watch. The movement also has the IWC crest and features 17 jewels with bezel set jewels and a micrometer regulator. Very high grade and its Bi-Metallic balance, gold timing screws, and 4 meantime adjusting screws. Also, every steel part has beveled edges. The porcelain dial is perfect as are the gold filigree hands. The watch even has its original beveled glass crystal.

One last thing. Handling this watch. Opening the covers and feeling the case in your hand, mostly the case back design you would think it is new. Everything is tight and that design is as sharp and crisp as any.

An outstanding example of a nearly 100-year-old IWC timepiece.

*Photos are of the watch in its current, unrestored state.

The price includes full restoration and repair. The work will be performed after purchase. This entails proper service of the movement, a new mainspring, and anything else that would be necessary to bring the watch into proper working order. Case cleaning and refinishing are also included. The extent of case refinishing, if any will be left up to the new owner.

Once you’ve made your purchase, please contact us so we may discuss the restoration and case refinishing.

Please allow 1-2 weeks after purchase for service to be completed.

Our goal is to achieve what we refer to as “Sympathetic Restoration”; in other words, bringing the watch back as close as possible to its original appearance without the need to remove all signs of its former life. We don’t want to dramatically change its history.

During the restoration, we only use period-correct parts, and in most cases, genuine factory parts from the same time period as the watch.
