Here we have a C-1919 Waltham Vanguard housed in a 14KGF case. It features a perfect white dial with boxy Arabic hour markers and a beautiful matched blued steel handset. It’s signed “Waltham Vanguard 23 Jewels”. Under the dial is a signed Waltham Vanguard movement with 23 jewels, marked adjusted to 5 positions. This one has some wonderful damasking on the plates and wheels, and features rose gold jewel settings, timing screws, and a rose gold center wheel. Just stunning! The watch is housed in a 14k White Gold filled case by NAWCO. It also features an inner snap-on dust cover to protect the movement. Both the caseback and dust cover are stamped “Railroad Model”. It shows wear at the bow and has a spot of wear-through on the caseback, though for nearly a century old it looks very nice for a gold-filled piece that was probably used every single day.

The price includes full restoration and repair. The work will be performed after purchase. This entails proper service of the movement, a new mainspring, and anything else that would be necessary to bring the watch into proper working order.

Once you’ve made your purchase, please contact us so we may discuss the restoration.

Please allow 1-2 weeks after purchase for service to be completed.

Our goal is to achieve what we refer to as “Sympathetic Restoration”; in other words, bringing the watch back as close as possible to its original appearance without the need to remove all signs of its former life. We don’t want to dramatically change its history.

During the restoration, we only use period-correct parts, and in most cases, genuine factory parts from the same time period as the watch.
