Omega ref. #2489 5 SS Cal. 265 Item #3197

Outstanding condition on this late 1940’s Omega wristwatch, with a rarely seen reference number of 2489 5. This one features the Cal. 265 movement – the direct replacement to the iconic Omega 30T2 movement. This high-grade in-house manual wind movement features 15 jewels and shock-proofing. It was also one of the first movements where Omega began plating in their signature rose/copper finish.

The stainless steel case measures 36mm across without the crown and 42.6mm from lug to lug. At nearly 80 years old, the high polish case is in near excellent condition and has been refinished to match its original factory finish. Also included is the original signed stainless steel Omega crown. As with the rest of the watch, the original finish silver dial is outstanding with just a tiny bit of aging. Silver markers and matching stainless steel hands top it all off.

The watch comes fully serviced including a new mainspring and a new acrylic crystal. It is running as it should and keeping very good time. It comes ready to wear on a matte black leather strap. A very nice example of a rarely seen Omega!
