101 YEARS OLD!
Great looking 16s Size “A. Lincoln” grade Illinois pocketwatch C-1919 in wonderful condition for any age, let alone it being a true antique. The double-sunk enamel dial is perfect, without chips or hairlines. The dial is the classic Railroad style with bold Arabic numerals. The matching railroad-style blued steel hands complete the look.
Under the dial is an Illinois-signed, 21-Jewel movement, marked “A. Lincoln” and adjusted to 5 positions. The movement features a gold gear train, gold timing screws, and gold jewel settings. Very high grade for the period, and very cool to see the president’s signature. This watch is a stem wind, lever set. A serial number of 3.4 million dates this piece to 1919. The watch is housed in a nice gold filled Wadsworth case with fancy design work on the caseback. It is in the Railroad style with a screw-on bezel and caseback.
*Photos are of the watch in its current, unrestored state.
The price includes full restoration and repair. The work will be performed after purchase. This entails proper service of the movement, a new mainspring, and anything else that would be necessary to bring the watch into proper working order. Case cleaning and refinishing are also included. The extent of case refinishing, if any will be left up to the new owner.
Once you’ve made your purchase, please contact us so we may discuss the restoration and case refinishing.
Please allow 1-2 weeks after purchase for service to be completed.
Our goal is to achieve what we refer to as “Sympathetic Restoration”; in other words, bringing the watch back as close as possible to its original appearance without the need to remove all signs of its former life. We don’t want to dramatically change its history.
During the restoration, we only use period-correct parts, and in most cases, genuine factory parts from the same time period as the watch.
