Our first episode is On The Air! It runs about 15 minutes (despite my claims that this one will be “shorter”) and gives a brief idea of what I hope to do with the Pieces Of Time Ancient Coin Podcast.
Here are our show notes, to help you get the most from our cast:
- Learn About Podcasting: From soup to nuts, right here at Podcast 411.
- Tom Cederlind. Tom is my friend and mentor in the world of ancient coins, and a fine, honest dealer and great guy.
- VCoins. VCoins is an online coin bourse; a great place to look at pictures of coins and a safe place to get your feet wet.
- Join The ACM Mail List. This list is a place to buy and sell coins.
- Join The Moneta Discussion List. Learn about the hobby as you discuss coins. A wonderful resource for newbie and expert! Founded by dealer Kevin Barry.
- Wayne Sayles. One of the most respected names in the hobby. We hope to have an interview with him soon. Check out his coins for sale.
- Ancient Coin Collector’s Guild. The hobby of collecting ancient coins is being threatened by government regulation. This is a very important issue and I encourage all collectors to become familiar with the debate and join the ACCG.
- Coin World. I write a monthly column for this publication. I encourage you to subscribe.
Finally, I want to say a word about The Celator Magazine. The Celator is THE publication for ancient coin collectors. I meant to mention it in my first cast, and I did, but forgot to give you the details. If you are serious about collecting you must subscribe. I hope to have an interview with the editor and publisher, Kerry Wetterstrom, soon.

Thom Bray has been a dealer, collector and student of Ancient Coinage for almost 20 years. He writes a monthly column on the hobby for Coin World Magazine, is a co-owner and moderator of the Internet discussion lists Moneta-L and ACM-L, and hosts the only existing (as of this writing) podcast on ancient coin collecting.
